The lattice frame of this sampler contains twenty-five 10 x 10 stitch motifs and sixteen octagonal medallions, all in blackwork. Each motif or medallion is worked in back-stitch, using two shades of embroidery floss; the motifs and the square frame are outlined in stem-stitch.
